Week 40 and 41
One of my favorite pics from Tyler... getting a ride in the trolley!
WEEK 40:
Hey guys!!! Sorry it has been so long, life has been CRAZYYYYY!!!!! Well let me tell you guys something... life has it's twists and turns!! Someone once said, "when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade." that saying is so true! There is so much in life that just gets thrown in our faces and we have no idea why, but it is our job to make something out of it. I know that Heavenly Father gives us trials in our lives for a reason, there is not anything "to hard" to over come, HE would not do that to us. He knows us, He knows the things you can and will do! Just keep on going foreword!!!! Sorry no pics this week, I forgot my camera back at the flat. I love you all!!! Have a great week!!!
Mama's Questions:
1. Did you have to move flats? Nope we stayed!
2. How is the new one if you did?
3. How was your week?
3. We hit the work hard this week! We have 2 potential investigators and have spent much of our time visiting the less active. On Thursday we woke up at 5am to play some american football with the zone. At the very end of the game I got cut off at the left knee and heard a very loud pop then fell to the ground in pain. Saturday we had an awesome conference with 2 apostle of the Lord! We had President M. Russell Ballard and Elder Gary E. Stevenson along with President Carl B. Cook and other members of the Seventy visit with the Sydney SOUTH and the Sydney North mission. I learned to never underestimate the power and authority that we have as missionaries to preach this Gospel, but also DECLARE His word. We are not here to serve for ourselves, but for the Lord.
Today my knee is really swollen and I am going in for an MRI with the President, not much else for pday this week.
4. What is the statues on the new phone situation?
4. We get them really soon and have been getting instructions on the use of them.
WEEK 41:
We receive a phone call on Friday night from our Stake President telling us that Tyler has a completely ruptured his ACL, bone contusions, and a grade 2 MCL sprain. Our natural instincts were to question it and so we emailed the mission doctor (who happens to be a orthopedic surgeon himself) having hope that he could fight through it and not have surgery. We received a phone call from Elder Briggs (mission Dr) on Saturday morning, who politely explained the MRI report, what had happened and how surgery was the only option they were giving Elder Wagner. After speaking to him on the phone for about 40 minutes, both Dale and myself were put at ease and had faith that this was part of Elder Wagner's journey and that he needs to proceed with the surgery.
That evening we got a call from Elder Wagner, who was very sad and frustrated with the results of the injury. This was defiantly not in his "plans" for his mission and is really not wanting to come home, but he has faith in Heavenly Fathers plan for him and will of course obey. He will be arriving home on Tuesday. We are activity searching for an orthopedic surgeon that will take him ASAP and hopefully get this process rolling quickly.
A scripture that was shared at church today really rang true in this situation:
Alma 26:27
Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.
We know that Elder Wagner will make it through this and come out stronger because of it! Prayers are much appreciate! We will continue to update the blog with his progress and information.
